LIBRARY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

            The Library Advisory Committee is constituted as per the institute norms, The Library Advisory Committee is headed by the faculty in-Charge Library of the institute. The committee support and facilitate the development of library. The committee act as a channel of communication and dialogue between the Library System and its users, also acts as a bridge between the Library and the academic fraternity and the management of the institute

The Library Advisory Committee is constituted to achieve the following:
 To supervise the smooth functioning of the library

  •  To cater to the needs of all sections of the library users (faculty, research scholars, Post graduate and under graduate students and other staff members).
  • To set guidelines and set of policies, rules & regulations and implement it in a judicious manner.
  •  To advise and recommend on the issues of upgrading the infrastructural facilities of the library.

Functions:

  1.  To set guidelines for the optimal use of the library resources.
  2.  To advise and review policy matters regarding activities and functioning of library
  3.  To strengthen the basic infrastructural facilities to maintain the functionality and performance.
  4.  To consider the views & needs of faculty members regarding collection development
  5.  To provide guidelines for collection development.
  6.  To take care of library budgetary issues.
  7.  Address the issues that concern the newer developments in the information acquisition and transfer process.

Meetings:

This committee meets as often as possible but at least once in a month to approve the requests received from faculty and any other matters of concern on the functioning of the library.
